![]() They do get more interesting in Part 2 with more unique puzzles but it’s a lot of the same whilst you evade the dinosaurs. These are locked by a few puzzles like a Simon Says or tapping at the right frequency. A lot of the objectives are going from point A to point B and accessing computers to get them working for one reason or another. You’ll be spending the majority of the game sneaking around past the roaming Velociraptors across the facilities you enter. ![]() The fact that Aftermath was split into two parts is most evident in the gameplay. However, this is mostly about Amelia and as a self-contained story it works decently to fill the gaps that may satiate Jurassic World fans, if you can get through the gameplay. It gives Blue the Velociraptor somewhat of an origin story that’s tied to the characters within the game too. Henry Wu, fleshing out more of his personality than maybe the movies do. This game definitely adds depth to BD Wong’s Dr. We do also have Jeff Goldblum and BD Wong reprising their roles though neither of their stories play a huge part in Aftermath. She plays the part emotively, ranged and engaging during the moment to moment gameplay. Sam is silent but you do have Laura Bailey’s Dr. Things go south instantly, thanks to some pesky Pterodactyls making your helicopter crash, but the mission is still the same. You’re initially tasked to infiltrate the lab facilities on Isla Nublar – the setting for Jurassic World – and recover important documents. Jurassic World Aftermath takes place after the events of Jurassic World and before Fallen Kingdom. This combines with a total lack of combat, so stealth and distraction are your best friends. Instead of a Xenomporh, you have Velociraptors mercilessly pursuing you. Comparing it to Alien: Isolation is a perfect summary. So, you won’t be pulling your hair out waiting a year for it to conclude. Thankfully the Switch release comes as a full package of Part 1 and 2 seamlessly connecting them. ![]() ![]() Something some people try is making a counter-weight and putting it on the back of the headset’s strap. The game was developed by Coatsink initially for the Oculus Quest (and Quest 2). It’s not the headset’s weight that’s an issue, so much as the front-weight you feel on your nose. Never tried it personally, but that might be more comfortable. There is a “Battery Pro Strap”, which has a battery on the back that helps as a counter-weight for the headset. Oculus has their “Pro Strap”, but I found it fiddly and it broke after a few months of use. You tighten the knob on the back of the strap if you need it to have a firmer grip on your head. The Halo strap will make it harder to lay back on a couch with your headset, so it’s a bit uncomfortable when used with “Unnamed Software Men Enjoy Privately”. Here’s some easly available parts I used to make it far more comfortable: Well you gotta replace the facial interface and head-strap, for sure. Here’s to hoping that Part 2 has a bit more meat on the bone and doesn’t leave us hanging until a Part 3! But hey, we’re glad to see that Part 2 is ready less than a year after Part 1. Though it hit a lot of the right notes, it felt like it was cut short with the way the game ended in a cliffhanger that really seemed more like the mid-point of its gameplay and narrative arc. Jurassic World Aftermath: Part 1 was released back in December and has been one of our favorite Quest games in the last year ( our review). We expect that Part 2 will continue to feature the velociraptor-which loves to stalk the player in a game of cat & mouse-as a recurring threat it’ll be interesting to see what role the other dinosaurs play. The studio is promising that the game will bring “all-new locations, puzzles and dinosaur encounters.” From the trailer we can clearly see that a tyrannosaurus rex is on the table, and from a screenshot it looks like a triceratops will join the fray too. To hype the announcement, the studio says it’s offering the original Jurassic World Aftermath: Part 1 at a 20% discount for one day only on August 27th. And we’re glad it’s coming soon-the original was a quality game but felt like it got cut short with a serious cliffhanger.Ĭoatsink, the studio behind the game, today announced the release date of Jurassic World Aftermath: Part 2 alongside a trailer for the game: Jurassic World Aftermath: Part 2 is now set to launch on September 30th on Oculus Quest, less than a year after Part 1.
